  • Child and adolescent psychiatric evaluations and treatment.  Special interest in developmental disorders, including autism, Aspergers disorder, and mental retardation.
  • Provides outpatient psychiatric evaluations and treatment.

Dr. Madhvi Phadtare-Richards graduated from B. J. Medical College, Pune University, India with an M.D. in 1996.  She then completed a general psychiatry residency at Michigan State University in 2001 and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Michigan in 2003.  Dr. Richards has clinical experience in working with children and adolescents with developmental disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, and psychotic disorders.  Her main interests include children with pervasive developmental disorders.  She directs the Department's 2-year child and adolescent residency program.
